In the 8th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas-Armando Giunta to maneuver through the defense. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Karim Bado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Etor in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Eulalio Soter hit a great ball. The Rio Verde F.C CIMZ fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Lenílson Gomes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 17 minutes into the game, Lenílson Gomes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Fausto George was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Karim Bado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wilfredo Etxahun showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 22 minute of play. In the 26thth minute of the game Lenílson Gomes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomás do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto George having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Thomás do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomás do Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto George breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico França in the 33rd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Thomás do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karim Bado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Etor, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Frederico França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Fausto George made a huge save. Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. In the 59thth minute of the game Wilfredo Etxahun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Karim Bado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Vargas to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Lenílson Gomes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fausto George. That made the score 2-3 after 67 minutes of play. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Timoteo Eguntsenti replaced Cristian Medina. 76 minutes into the game, Mauro Perez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Karim Bado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Mauro Perez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karim Bado. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauro Perez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Fausto George showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás do Valle in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Wilfredo Etxahun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karim Bado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizinho Neves hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Frederico França slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fausto George. That made the score 4-4 after 96 minutes of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
