The audience thought a goal was coming when Thierry Lhermite got free with Oleg Timofeev in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Léon Cailleaux took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Timofeev. Oleg Timofeev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 29 minutes into the match, Roncourt's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias dos Santos came free, but Brian Fumey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute of the match, Léon Cailleaux tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Oleg Timofeev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Brian Fumey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Edmílson Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oleg Timofeev made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Félicien Payan sent off a good shot on target. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jano Cavalcante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Lhermite in the 52nd minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Oleg Timofeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oleg Timofeev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Léon Cailleaux went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Oleg Timofeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léon Cailleaux in the 61st minute of play.
