With a left leg Ferdinand Horhoianu saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. Purcaresti CSS's Ferdinand Horhoianu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Travassos in the 14th minute of play. Ferdinand Horhoianu came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Jenipapo SC's Cristiano Marquez. But to his dismay, Cristiano Marquez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão Travassos in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferdinand Horhoianu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 22 minutes, Simão Travassos made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Purcaresti CSS's Ferdinand Horhoianu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ferdinand Horhoianu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paul Drăgan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vitinho Vieira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinand Horhoianu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. When Cristiano Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Jenipapo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Marquez couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute Cristiano Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Horhoianu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Purcaresti CSS's Pompiliu Honciu got a free kick in the 77th minute. Simão Travassos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-9 to the left of a surprised Ferdinand Horhoianu 82 minutes into the match. Simão Travassos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Ferdinand Horhoianu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jenipapo SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
