When Laureano Estebe fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candelaria FC's protests and gave Laureano Estebe a yellow card for diving instead. Laureano Estebe hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. A hard shot 25 in the game by Eugenio Sedeni from a close distance when the talented Carmelo Cordario managed to make a qualified save. Candelaria FC's players were relieved. Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Estebe in the 31st minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aureliano Izotz made a kick off. Dionisio Santiago kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Jacinto Frascuelo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Candelaria FC's Carmelo Cordario didn't even have to move. If Arnoldo Larra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merengue FC's Domingo Jago got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of Candelaria FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Candelaria FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Merengue FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
