The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Abad. 4 minutes into the match, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Roland Smolarek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donato Azeari narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 6 in the game by Iordache Donici from a close distance when the talented Donato Azeari managed to make a qualified save. San Lorenzo's players were relieved. Robert Ţugui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yang Ming Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Osoro in the 10th minute of the match. Jean-Jacques Ares kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Iordache Donici cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Donato Azeari was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iordache Donici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celestino Toro hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Donato Azeari showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Vincente in the 21st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Robert Ţugui could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Donato Azeari however easily saved by the left post. When Iordache Donici came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the C Ａ R D I N Ａ L fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Donici couldn't finish the play. Robert Ţugui in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Donato Azeari, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Iordache Donici who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Donato Azeari when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 41 minutes into the match, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Osoro came free, but Yang Ming Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herminio Vincente hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Toro in the 44th minute of play forced C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goalkeeper Yang Ming Ran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celestino Toro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herminio Vincente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Azeari having to interfere. 57 minutes into the game, Iordache Donici cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Donato Azeari was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Herminio Vincente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Azeari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Azeari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Vincente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Iordache Donici managed to get in a good position for a shot. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's supporters rose to their feet, but Iordache Donici was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Azeari breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Herminio Vincente kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 76th minute C Ａ R D I N Ａ L were awarded a corner. Roland Smolarek went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Victor Belmiro hit a great ball. Donato Azeari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordache Donici in the 83rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iordache Donici in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Azeari saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Iordache Donici's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato Azeari was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Herminio Vincente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Donato Azeari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Iordache Donici in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Lorenzo's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Jean-Jacques Ares got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Iordache Donici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Azeari having to interfere. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
