Xavi Thayer kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Patricio Mayol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimas Álvares in the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Salvador Roldán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Peseiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heitor Peseiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Roldán in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Salvador Roldán left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cobresal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Cobresal getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Lester Sanfuentes hit a great ball. Garanhão do SUL's Heitor Peseiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Cesarini in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Fabrício Águas got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Cecilio Escandón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Tarcísio Palha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Mayol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Garikoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarcísio Palha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Garanhão do SUL's Necaettin Akdemirci nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patricio Mayol made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 44th minute, Necaettin Akdemirci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patricio Mayol was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renato Cesarini to make the kick off. Renato Cesarini struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Heitor Peseiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cobresal. Patricio Mayol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Necaettin Akdemirci, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimas Álvares in the 67th minute of play forced Cobresal's goalkeeper Patricio Mayol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Renato Cesarini's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Heitor Peseiro was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renato Cesarini in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heitor Peseiro saved Garanhão do SUL from getting behind. Renato Cesarini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabrício Águas was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Cobresal booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Águas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heitor Peseiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cecilio Escandón. In the 86th minute Salvador Roldán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Peseiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Cobresal's corner Renato Cesarini fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Heitor Peseiro quite easily take care of the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Cobresal's Salvador Roldán nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heitor Peseiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 95th match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Garikoitz to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
