With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ignazio Corrales in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Barovero saved Bolivia from getting behind. Marcelo Barovero came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Ignazio Corrales. But to his dismay, Ignazio Corrales quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Izel Ronaldo to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Arano Abendano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arano Abendano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Barovero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignazio Corrales in the 62nd minute of play. Juan Funes struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Dani Hernández didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bolivia. Bolivia's Sergio Batista was substituted for Pablo Solari. 71 minutes into the match, Karim Morientes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcelo Barovero, 0-3. Karim Morientes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcelo Barovero came out and tried to block the shot, but Karim Morientes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 84th minute. Dani Hernández showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ponciano Abarca in the 87th minute of the match. Marcelo Barovero made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Karim Morientes sent off a good shot on target. Dani Hernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ponciano Abarca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Bolivia were awarded a corner.
