When Pedro Parente fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored On Fire Club's protests and gave Pedro Parente a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, On Fire Club's Mariano Pegado got a free kick in the 3rd minute. On Fire Club's Luís Pádua managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Aaron Tierney in the 12 minute of the game. Mariano Pegado struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Bardan McMichel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for On Fire Club. In the 18th minute, Fionntán McPhilip ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Espinosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of Catstown booed when On Fire Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Póvoas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barney Doyle in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Espinosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Catstown's Fionntán McPhilip got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bardan McMichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Pegado in the 29th minute of play. A collision led to On Fire Club getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Joaquim Amaro hit a great ball. Briain Morrison hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Briain Morrison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Espinosa having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Catstown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarlath McOliver to maneuver through the defense. The On Fire Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Catstown were winning 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Barney Doyle made a kick off. Henry McBrand might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Espinosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry McBrand ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, On Fire Club's Luís Espinosa got control of the ball when Barney Doyle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Olavo Horta hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Pegado in the 57th minute of play forced Catstown's goalkeeper Bardan McMichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Briain Morrison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Espinosa made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Fionntán McPhilip sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th minute, Catstown's Bren Duggan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bren Duggan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Catstown protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bren Duggan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Catstown fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The referee gave On Fire Club a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mariano Pegado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Catstown's Bardan McMichel. 1-1. Joaquim Amaro kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 75 played minutes, Catstown's Dane Matthews shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís Espinosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catstown reached it. In the 77th minute Olavo Horta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bardan McMichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Dane Matthews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mariano Pegado struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Bardan McMichel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for On Fire Club. Briain Morrison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Luís Espinosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bardan McMichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Rebocho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Catstown's Bardan McMichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Rebocho in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Honorato Peseiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. On Fire Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catstown the free kick. 98 minutes into the match, Catstown's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Pegado came free, but Bardan McMichel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Catstown were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing On Fire Club to leave the ground with a draw.
