The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, C. A. Independiente's Michel van der Bij threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Quintin Starkey, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice moves Roy Huston could shoot a difficult shot in the 6th minute, which Michel van der Bij however easily saved by the left post. Alfredo Gumaro's late challenge caught a C. A. Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Gumaro helped the player get up and apologised. Michel van der Bij made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Roy Huston sent off a good shot on target. Conrad Carrington charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrad Carrington the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of ISPARTASPOR U21 booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrad Carrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Conrad Carrington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Gumaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 21st minute, Hayden Winslow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes ISPARTASPOR U21 got a freekick which was hit by Jim Houwing. Conrad Carrington hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Miguel Ángel Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Isac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michel van der Bij showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conrad Carrington in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Gumaro in the 36th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Ángel Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Gumaro in the 37th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Jim Houwing in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C. A. Independiente's Diego Cagna. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Gumaro to strike the kick off in the second half. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi Isac in the 58th minute of the match. C. A. Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Isac in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute Alfredo Gumaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, C. A. Independiente's Roy Huston nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Michel van der Bij made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Davinson Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to ISPARTASPOR U21 getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Jim Houwing hit a great ball. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Gumaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. C. A. Independiente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Alfredo Gumaro scored to the left of an out of position Miguel Ángel Santoro, making the score, 1-1. ISPARTASPOR U21 made a substitution. Ali Erdem Tekay replaced Bircan Özilter. In the 85th minute Davi Isac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's Roy Huston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michel van der Bij narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Ali Erdem Tekay notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of C. A. Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro. Miguel Ángel Santoro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ISPARTASPOR U21's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
