Foot Ball Club di Roma's Leonardo Spinazzola was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Donato Azeari in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Celestino Toro took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dino Di Luca to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celestino Toro got free with Dino Di Luca in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute San Lorenzo were awarded a corner. Leo Fix went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Delmiro Tabor managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 16 played minutes Foot Ball Club di Roma got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Crispino. In the 29th minute Fausto Estebano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Di Luca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Azeari tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 71 minutes, Biagio Pallini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Foot Ball Club di Roma and the San Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd minute, Biagio Pallini reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Donato Azeari. The goal made the score 1-1. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Christian Marsili got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Christian Marsili off the ground. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Foot Ball Club di Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Marsili didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dino Di Luca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Toro, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Dino Di Luca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Foot Ball Club di Roma players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for San Lorenzo.
