River's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Foot Ball Club di Roma the free kick. After 7 played minutes River got a freekick which was hit by Severo Gabino. Biagio Pallini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Saverio Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severo Gabino got his second yellow card in the match during the 11th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Severo Gabino hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Victorio Otsoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Dino Di Luca made a huge save. In the 16th minute Victorio Otsoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Di Luca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute River were awarded a corner. Filomeno Distiratsu went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Ambrosio Mitxaut got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dino Di Luca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Victor Iraido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saverio Mino came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Foot Ball Club di Roma's Christian Marsili. But to his dismay, Christian Marsili quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 35th minute, Filomeno Distiratsu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Leonardo Spinazzola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foot Ball Club di Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonardo Spinazzola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saverio Mino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 38 played minutes Foot Ball Club di Roma got a freekick which was hit by Fedele Cimino. A collision led to River getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Filomeno Distiratsu hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Christian Marsili made a precise shot to the right of Saverio Mino. River's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victor Iraido made a kick off. Filomeno Distiratsu hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the game, Foot Ball Club di Roma's Ettore Scarcella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saverio Mino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 68th minute, Andrea Di Girolamo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Biagio Pallini got free with Saverio Mino in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. River's Victorio Otsoa got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Iraido charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Iraido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th minute, Victor Iraido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Ettore Scarcella got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Foot Ball Club di Roma booed when River was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Distiratsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to River getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ernesto Henrico hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Foot Ball Club di Roma's Christian Marsili ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Saverio Mino. Saverio Mino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. River's Victor Iraido got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. River's Saverio Mino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save River from getting a goal against them. When the match was over Foot Ball Club di Roma could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than River throughout the match.
