Donato Azeari didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Biaggio went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 40th match minute, El Golden Volvió! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Redondo to maneuver through the defense. After 44 played minutes El Golden Volvió! got a freekick which was hit by Lino Mederi. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudio Biaggio was the one to do the kick off.
