When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Flavio Cifuentes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nery Pumpido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Cifuentes in the 10th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taltum FC's attentive He Sang Jun managed to snatch the ball when Roberto Trotta made a throw-in in the 11th minute of the game. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Roberto Trotta hit a great ball. Flavio Cifuentes might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Cifuentes ran back to his position shaking his head. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Cifuentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zico Zellier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zhang Hao Qing made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zhang Hao Qing. The goal made the score 1-1. With 20 minutes on the clock, Andres Tufiño commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Taltum FC! When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Zhang Hao Qing. In the 27th minute Angel Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhang Hao Qing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Trotta struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Zhang Hao Qing didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GuateFortín. Zhang Hao Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zico Zellier in the 31st minute of play. Sven-Edvin Jansson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zhang Hao Qing came out and tried to block the shot, but Sven-Edvin Jansson slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 36th minute. Angel Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Cifuentes in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flavio Cifuentes in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nery Pumpido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roberto Trotta's late challenge caught a Taltum FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Trotta helped the player get up and apologised.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavio Cifuentes made a kick off. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Cifuentes in the 52nd minute of the match. Taltum FC's Zhang Hao Qing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 56th minute of play. Zhang Hao Qing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zico Zellier, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Zhang Hao Qing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zico Zellier in the 61st minute of the match. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Cifuentes in the 64th minute of the match. GuateFortín's William Villanueva was substituted for Zico Zellier. Taltum FC made a substitution. Espinosa Marco replaced Marcelo Cavenaghi. In the 67th minute Taltum FC were awarded a corner. The tension between the Taltum FC and the GuateFortín players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute of the match Máximo Perrone shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zhang Hao Qing showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Many of Taltum FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Taltum FC may have spent more time on the ball, but GuateFortín were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
