Karim Morientes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Valhalla F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Jansson came free, but Benicio Larez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karim Morientes in the 7th minute. Valhalla F.C.'s Benicio Larez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zico Zellier in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Valhalla F.C. booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thierry Henry didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the game Heriberto Correa made a throw-in which Máximo Perrone played forward. Thierry Henry hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Benicio Larez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 25th minute of the match. Karim Morientes took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karim Morientes in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nery Pumpido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute, Karim Morientes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valhalla F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 40th minute Zico Zellier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Larez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson made a precise shot to the right of Benicio Larez. Valhalla F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karim Morientes to strike the kick off in the second half. Benicio Larez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 54th minute of play. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karim Morientes in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thierry Henry in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benicio Larez saved Valhalla F.C. from getting behind. In the 66th minute of the match GuateFortín got a corner. Valhalla F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Angel Alvarenga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Benicio Larez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 69th minute of play. Valhalla F.C.'s Izel Ronaldo was substituted for Karim Morientes. Valhalla F.C.'s Radek Majewski was substituted for Du Fan Fei. GuateFortín made a substitution. Severo Rameriz replaced Stanyo Búnkov. In the 77th minute, Izel Ronaldo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nery Pumpido was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 82 minutes into the game, Vilmundur Sólbergsson threw the ball into play from the sideline. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 84th minute, Thierry Henry reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benicio Larez. The goal made the score 3-2. After a rather tough play, Valhalla F.C.'s Radek Majewski got a free kick in the 87th minute. Nery Pumpido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Izel Ronaldo went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. In the 92nd minute, Izel Ronaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
