Sergio Mustafa might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Mustafa in the 26th minute of the match. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Mustafa in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th minute Sergio Mustafa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven-Edvin Jansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xian J.J., even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of C.U.E. DE COMERCIO booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Sergio Mustafa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nery Pumpido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven-Edvin Jansson to make the kick off. If Teodoro Nikola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seb Gentiletti in the 57th minute of the match. That made the score 3-1 in the 85 minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Romano came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Sebastião Gentiletti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
