Thanks to some nice moves Tom Beaune could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Osman Şenel however easily saved by the left post. Lyon 69ers were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Hai Duong's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marian Racoviceanu took the corner. Guy Durant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Clarke in the 21st minute of the match. Guy Durant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Phuoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zumar Villabona sped through Lyon 69ers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guy Durant. Hai Duong's Ngô Duy got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Zumar Villabona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Durant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Mathias Lecanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osman Şenel made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Tom Beaune sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the game, Lyon 69ers's Anatol Hönes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osman Şenel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After 91 played minutes, Lyon 69ers's Marian Racoviceanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osman Şenel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lyon 69ers reached it. Lyon 69ers's Guy Durant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Clarke in the 93rd minute of play. Osman Şenel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Beaune in the 95th minute of the match.
