The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, CSD Concepción's Miguel Manilan got a free kick in the 7th minute. Juanjo Campaña charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juanjo Campaña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Nicolás Villamil had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Miren Panussi's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gualberto Abbatte was the one to do the kick off. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 107 minutes, Miguel Manilan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CSD Concepción and the Ornitorrincos F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nicolás Villamil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miren Panussi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ornitorrincos F.C. were awarded a corner in the 109th minute after CSD Concepción's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miren Panussi took the corner. Ornitorrincos F.C.'s Miren Panussi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nicolás Villamil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gabriel Vargas hit a great freekick 113 minutes into the match. Both sets of players were looking tired when the whistle went to end the half. Everyone was pleased to get a few minutes to rest before extra-time resumed.

The players looked a little tired but resolute before the second half of the overtime, where Erasmo Lacunza took the kick off. After having played for 120 minutes, Miren Panussi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ornitorrincos F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Miren Panussi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 122 minutes into the match, Ornitorrincos F.C.'s Duardo Pruniel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolás Villamil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Miguel Manilan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 125th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Bertrand having to interfere. César Bertrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Vargas in the 127th minute of play. Valentín Bello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 129th minute of the match, but Nicolás Villamil made a huge save. CSD Concepción's defense didn't have a chance, in the 129th minute, when Valentín Bello scored to the left of an out of position Nicolás Villamil, making the score, 3-4.
