An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Veto in the 16th minute of play forced Dunton Green's goalkeeper Shukrie Kool to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wei Xuan Phua hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Dunton Green's Fariz Ning got a free kick in the 20th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Dunton Green's Lamar Yeo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tan Tee to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Dunton Green defense, Felix Aureo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shukrie Kool. The Dunton Green fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shukrie Kool should have stopped the shot. Tan Tee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Fabricio Ritchie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
