When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Benedicto Naelio sped through ChAяRuA ϒ KaяβoηEяO ☆'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roberto Layton. 47 minutes into the game, Argentina's Paolo-César Maldini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roberto Layton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Loco Durazno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Loco Durazno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Layton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
