In the 5th minute Tedj Sellal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cãlin Damaschin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mebarek Mammeri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Vasiliu in the 7th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Daniel Perju took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mebarek Mammeri to make any attempt to save it. Marcel Nazaria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mebarek Mammeri having to interfere. Mebarek Mammeri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Vasiliu in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Marius Cerbu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Moldova's Mebarek Mammeri threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sandu Vasiliu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Moldova were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after MZ Country's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcel Nazaria took the corner. The corner ended in Marin Lipets almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MZ Country's Mebarek Mammeri did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Perju got free with Mebarek Mammeri in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the game, Gheorghe Papuc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moldova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MZ Country the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Moldova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gheorghe Papuc to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Mebarek Mammeri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Perju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gheorghe Papuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Moldova's zone, Tedj Sellal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cãlin Damaschin came out of the goal and Tedj Sellal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mouloud Cavalli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moldova's Maxim Scobioalã was substituted for Marin Lipets. MZ Country made a substitution. Noureddine Madjer replaced Tedj Sellal. Moldova made a substitution. Ruslan Izmanã replaced Emil Gonta. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chadli Boudjedra couldn't finish the play. After taking down the ball on Moldova's corner Marcel Nazaria fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mebarek Mammeri quite easily take care of the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Moldova fully deserved thier win.
