The referee showed Eddy Ginanjar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Indonesia's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 영 in the 18th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

It was Phoenix Kante who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Phoenix Kante got away a dangerous shot. Despite this 김 담 quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cakra Nyakmad in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 김 담 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 77 minutes into the match, Indonesia's Sugih Linggawarman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 김 담 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by South Korea's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Phoenix Kante was slow to take the kick. During this time Indonesia's players had a chance to rest. In the 82nd minute, 정 현 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Haji Sarap was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sugih Linggawarman in the 88th minute of play forced South Korea's goalkeeper 김 담 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 김 용 hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 97thth minute of the game 황보 추 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Indonesia's Haji Sarap was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 97 minutes, 황보 추 made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Indonesia's Haji Sarap tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched South Korea eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
