With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dionisio Raphael prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Paredes got free with Dionisio Raphael in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Demario came free, but Samuel Fiúza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amado Melo made in the 33rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ke Zhi Jian immediately put the ball in play. Samuel Fiúza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Micarelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Joga Bem in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gremio Viana's Amado Melo. PINGO PINGO's Dionisio Raphael proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save PINGO PINGO from getting a goal against them. PINGO PINGO's Filip Josefsson was substituted for Alvaro Micarelli. After the first half PINGO PINGO were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filip Josefsson made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ke Zhi Jian in the 60th minute of play forced PINGO PINGO's goalkeeper Dionisio Raphael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 minutes, Lisandro Gutierrez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PINGO PINGO and the Gremio Viana players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gremio Viana made a substitution. Antonio Calisto replaced Tony Påk. After 64 played minutes PINGO PINGO got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Gutierrez. With a little luck, Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza got control of the ball when Filip Josefsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ke Zhi Jian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Raphael having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Mariusz Lamczyk. The Gremio Viana manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing PINGO PINGO to win.
