If Eugen Spanehl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Róża Białystok defense, Hartmut Störmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miromir Pietrowski. The Róża Białystok fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miromir Pietrowski should have stopped the shot. Hartmut Störmer might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miromir Pietrowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hartmut Störmer ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute, Stefan Makowski fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. VfL Tegel's Eugen Spanehl got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Róża Białystok's Stefan Makowski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eberhard Baur. Eberhard Baur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. A collision led to Róża Białystok getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Sylwester Grunwalski hit a great ball. Hartmut Störmer took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miromir Pietrowski. Miromir Pietrowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Stefan Makowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes Róża Białystok got a freekick which was hit by Jerzy Rakoski. Eugen Spanehl succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. When VfL Tegel's Eugen Spanehl in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stefan Makowski to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Jan Wohlfart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VfL Tegel and the Róża Białystok players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jan Wohlfart hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Eberhard Baur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Makowski in the 53rd minute of the match. If Eugen Spanehl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Róża Białystok's zone, Eugen Spanehl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miromir Pietrowski came out of the goal and Eugen Spanehl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frank Groll charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Groll the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stefan Makowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Eberhard Baur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefan Makowski kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Miromir Pietrowski made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Eugen Spanehl sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugen Spanehl got free with Miromir Pietrowski in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Dariusz Pionek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hartmut Störmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eberhard Baur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Makowski in the 99th minute of play. The VfL Tegel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VfL Tegel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
