When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Giovane Dollberg took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Everardo Sal to make any attempt to save it. Everardo Sal made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Gu Chen sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Fc Schönhagen defense, Armando Padro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lutz Wittwer. The Fc Schönhagen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lutz Wittwer should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Yalapa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Krüger was slow to take the kick. During this time Fc Schönhagen's players had a chance to rest. Edgar Krüger made a great header on Fc Schönhagen's corner, it was just that Yalapa's Everardo Sal managed to reach the ball for a save. Fc Schönhagen's Lutz Wittwer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Gaston in the 28th minute of play. Lutz Wittwer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gu Chen made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ekkehard Clemens during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 played minutes Fc Schönhagen got a freekick which was hit by Ekkehard Clemens. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gu Chen in the 60th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Everardo Sal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fc Schönhagen's Edgar Krüger got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lutz Wittwer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Clis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edgar Krüger fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Schönhagen's protests and gave Edgar Krüger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute Gu Chen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Sal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Gu Chen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After 88 played minutes, Fc Schönhagen's Edgar Krüger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Everardo Sal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fc Schönhagen reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugenio Garci during the 89th minute.
