Spectators: 7549 (Terracing: 5663, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 150) Lyons's Victor Ibar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Austin Muller kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to Canarinho Atordoado getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Dé Pontikas hit a great ball. When Henri Martins came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Canarinho Atordoado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henri Martins couldn't finish the play. Egídio Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Llanos in the 11th minute of play. Victor Ibar scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Egídio Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco Quirze took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egídio Sampaio. Egídio Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Henri Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egídio Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Ibar, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Canarinho Atordoado's Henri Martins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benedicto Maule made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Henri Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Benedicto Maule tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egídio Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clodoveo Llanos in the 36th minute of the match. Tiago Gabriel Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Canarinho Atordoado's Evaristo Favoretto got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute of the match Victoriano Ferran shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egídio Sampaio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Muller in the 44th minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Egídio Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Lyons were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiago Gabriel Luz to strike the kick off in the second half. Egídio Sampaio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Quirze in the 56th minute. Benedicto Maule took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henri Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Mario Ricart. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Egídio Sampaio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Canarinho Atordoado's Egídio Sampaio got control of the ball when Marco Quirze tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henri Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedicto Maule. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henri Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. After 69 minutes of play, Lyons's Marco Quirze made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egídio Sampaio was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Tiago Gabriel Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Lyons defense, Tiago Gabriel Luz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benedicto Maule. The Lyons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benedicto Maule should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute Victor Ibar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes Canarinho Atordoado's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mario Ricart who took care of the corner kick. Victor Ibar was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Ibar in the 92nd minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Egídio Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lyons's Emilio Peru got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Lyons supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lyons would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
