In the 41st minute Maurinho Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikael Lundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Osvald Österlund fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surahammar's protests and gave Osvald Österlund a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Surahammar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvald Österlund to maneuver through the defense. After 42 played minutes Papunhas EC got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Prestes. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stig Aronsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruy Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Erland Vikström sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Madureira to maneuver through the defense. When Osvald Österlund came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Surahammar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvald Österlund couldn't finish the play. Ruy Oliveira was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Stig Aronsson. The audience was convinced that Erland Vikström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruy Oliveira was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Ruy Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Aronsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur do Nascimento in the 64th minute of play forced Surahammar's goalkeeper Mikael Lundström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Surahammar booed when Papunhas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Stig Aronsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Surahammar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stig Aronsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mikael Lundström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frédson Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Erland Vikström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ruy Oliveira. That made the score 1-4 in the 96 minute of play. Surahammar played a much better game than Papunhas EC and deserved their victory. The Papunhas EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
