In the 5th minute Franklin Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Cactos's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto de Azevedo came free, but Deivid Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kléberson Messias's late challenge caught a Vista Alegre FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléberson Messias helped the player get up and apologised. Deivid Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Pedrão Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Gerber came free, but Pedrão Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norberto de Azevedo in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Deivid Rosa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cactos's Deivid Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Cactos from getting a goal against them. Amílton Paulista struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Pedrão Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cactos. A collision led to Vista Alegre FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jonathan Trigo hit a great ball. Pedrão Sarmento came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cactos's Gugu Montenegro. But to his dismay, Gugu Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Gerber in the 42nd minute of play. Deivid Rosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto de Azevedo in the 45th minute of play. Norberto de Azevedo scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Deivid Rosa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The wind increased when Franklin Leite made the kick off in the second half. Pedrão Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deivid Rosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto de Azevedo in the 54th minute of play. Pedrão Sarmento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Montenegro in the 68th minute of play. With a little luck, Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento got control of the ball when Franklin Leite tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Vista Alegre FC from getting a goal against them. Cactos's Armando Gerber got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto de Azevedo in the 79th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Deivid Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Armando Gerber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrão Sarmento was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When Franklin Leite came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Cactos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Leite couldn't finish the play. 97 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Pedrão Sarmento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gugu Montenegro. The Cactos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cactos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
