The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manu Smets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Royal Knights FC's Manu Smets got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Nestor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristo Cordara. Royal Knights FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Nestor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manu Smets in the 13th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Italo Franklin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italo Franklin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 蔡辉海 in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Corrêa came free, but Italo Franklin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Royal Knights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 minutes, Hudson Pires made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. PIAUÍ FC's Italo Franklin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rodrigo Nestor who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Cristo Cordara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Royal Knights FC booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to PIAUÍ FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Acácio Paiva hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Carlos Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal Knights FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Italo Franklin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Italo Franklin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manu Smets in the 37th minute of the match. PIAUÍ FC's Abel Donatello managed to work through Royal Knights FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Abel Donatello dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Cristo Cordara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hudson Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Nestor was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Royal Knights FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Lima to maneuver through the defense. Italo Franklin made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Arne Röspel sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Lima hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Abel Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Carlos Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Italo Franklin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rodrigo Nestor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Nestor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dé Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Knights FC's protests and gave Dé Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Royal Knights FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marcel Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 71 played minutes Royal Knights FC got a freekick which was hit by 蔡辉海. With an all-out effort, Royal Knights FC's Italo Franklin threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Lima, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 74th match minute, PIAUÍ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Penha to maneuver through the defense. Royal Knights FC's Carlos Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Italo Franklin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcel Corrêa. Italo Franklin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hudson Pires got free with Italo Franklin in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Lima came free, but Italo Franklin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Carlos Lima almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PIAUÍ FC's Italo Franklin did a great save. Royal Knights FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
