The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Alianza Trujillo defense, Edgar Comarnescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Solustiano Ameyugo. The Alianza Trujillo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Solustiano Ameyugo should have stopped the shot. Sandu Pătrășconiu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. FC ciufulici's Marius Rusu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dolcet Bevia in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to FC ciufulici getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ioan Almăgean hit a great ball. George Giurcă took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Solustiano Ameyugo. Solustiano Ameyugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 30 minutes into the game, when Andrei Joita put in a rough tackle. In the 30th match minute, FC ciufulici was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Joita to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes, Alianza Trujillo's Nicholas Colunga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marius Rusu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alianza Trujillo reached it. Marius Rusu made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Raulo Seda sent off a good shot on target. Solustiano Ameyugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Gârleanu in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of FC ciufulici booed when Alianza Trujillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dolcet Bevia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half FC ciufulici were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raulo Seda to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gigel Gârleanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC ciufulici's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigel Gârleanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Solustiano Ameyugo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute Inacio Trevijano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Rusu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58thth minute of the game Inacio Trevijano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC ciufulici's Marius Rusu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marius Rusu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nalo Autran in the 59th minute of play. After 61 played minutes Alianza Trujillo got a freekick which was hit by Oliveiro Urbiso. Alianza Trujillo's Machado Maja was substituted for Nicholas Colunga. Alianza Trujillo made a substitution. Cordario Quiroz replaced Mario Verdeja. A collision led to Alianza Trujillo getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Oliveiro Urbiso hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Edgar Comarnescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC ciufulici's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Comarnescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Solustiano Ameyugo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, George Giurcă took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Solustiano Ameyugo to make any attempt to save it. Marius Rusu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nalo Autran in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza Trujillo's zone, Edgar Comarnescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Solustiano Ameyugo came out of the goal and Edgar Comarnescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, George Giurcă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Alianza Trujillo's Solustiano Ameyugo got control of the ball when Gigel Gârleanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. If George Giurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Alianza Trujillo booed when FC ciufulici was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ioan Almăgean didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC ciufulici walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
