Franco Marianos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Ubaldo Matildo Gatti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aurelio Epifani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaby Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Devoto club social's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Angelo Marchegiani scored to the left of an out of position Ubaldo Matildo Gatti, making the score, 2-0.
