The audience was convinced that Mario Cordario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ubaldo Fillol was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. The San Lorenzo fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when San Lorenzo's Mario Cordario looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 21stth minute of the game João Freire who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Lorenzo's Donato Azeari was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Cordario in the 25th minute of play forced BRASIL.Sp's goalkeeper Ubaldo Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, João Freire left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BRASIL.Sp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to BRASIL.Sp getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. João Freire hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, San Lorenzo's Ubaldo Fillol threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Celestino Toro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Freire to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Freire in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Azeari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raphael Paes charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raphael Paes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Paes. In the 56th minute of the match Victor Belmiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ubaldo Fillol skillfully saved the ball. Donato Azeari made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederico Vianna in the 61st minute. Ubaldo Fillol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when João Freire came free, but Donato Azeari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. That made the score 2-2 in the 78 minute of play. Ubaldo Fillol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Osoro in the 82nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Freire in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Azeari saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Mario Cordario got a free kick in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Donato Azeari had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Breno Sá. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
