The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gino Brito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabiano Tatangelo in the 3rd minute. After a rather tough play, Gladiator FC's Franco Cirone got a free kick in the 25th minute. The supporters of Gladiator FC booed when Bezerros EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute of the match Dino Cantagallo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gino Brito skillfully saved the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Comunardo Rullo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gino Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 2-1 became the score in the 42nd minute when Gustavo Corrêa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Gladiator FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Tatangelo to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Comunardo Rullo made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Gladiator FC's Aurelio Epifani got control of the ball when Gustavo Corrêa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aurelio Epifani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Comunardo Rullo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Geovânio Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gino Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Comunardo Rullo in the 62nd minute of the match. Bezerros EC's Gino Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Barone in the 66th minute of play. In the 77thth minute of the game Gustavo Corrêa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gladiator FC's Aurelio Epifani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Bezerros EC's Luisinho Massa got a free kick in the 80th minute. Gustavo Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Epifani having to interfere. If Fedele Nardi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Donato Barone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Franco Cirone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Barone in the 93rd minute of play forced Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Gino Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovânio Camargo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aurelio Epifani came out and tried to block the shot, but Geovânio Camargo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 96th minute. Despite being the better team, Gladiator FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
