The San Martin de Tucuman fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when San Martin de Tucuman's Hector Gizon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Grêmio Papão de WC made a substitution. Moisés da Silveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moisés da Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hector Gizon went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renato Netto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Amadeo Vincent fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Moisés da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Blai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés da Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavio Blai went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Rafael Roldanillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moisés da Silveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Moisés da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Diegotxe in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Flavio Blai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moisés da Silveira. Grêmio Papão de WC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Blai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Carlos Velasco replaced Blas Oxarra. With a little luck, Grêmio Papão de WC's Moisés da Silveira got control of the ball when Rafael Roldanillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grêmio Papão de WC's Horácio Prestes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Maximo Diegotxe in the 77 minute of the game.
