Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Misericordia EC's Bob Chute in the 12th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Moises Vela was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for San Martin de Tucuman through an amazing save. In the 12th minute, Bob Chute made a precise shot to the right of Moises Vela. San Martin de Tucuman's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Moises Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Ferraz, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 23 played minutes Misericordia EC got a freekick which was hit by Zico Matamoros. When German Berto fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Martin de Tucuman's protests and gave German Berto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, one of San Martin de Tucuman:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Martin de Tucuman. San Martin de Tucuman's Moises Vela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 64th minute Zico Matamoros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Vela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Misericordia EC's Bob Dinamite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moises Vela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Juan Monje charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Monje the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Misericordia EC booed when San Martin de Tucuman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Monje didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the game, Misericordia EC's Bob Dinamite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 85th minute, Bob Chute left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Misericordia EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Bob Dinamite took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moises Vela. Moises Vela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Moises Vela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zico Matamoros in the 95th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Bob Dinamite notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of San Martin de Tucuman's Moises Vela. Moises Vela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Misericordia EC had played much better football throughout.
