After 5 minutes, Sixto Tristan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tiburones Rojos and the De Pelgrims players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sixto Tristan hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Fanis Bakosis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elbert Spanjer in the 7th minute of the match. A collision led to Tiburones Rojos getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Teofilo Venceslao hit a great ball. Teofilo Venceslao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Teofilo Venceslao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laurens Oosterman was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 23rd minute Albano Luke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurens Oosterman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laurens Oosterman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Lorien in the 25th minute of the match. When Marcos Ponc fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tiburones Rojos's protests and gave Marcos Ponc a yellow card for diving instead. 30 minutes into the game, De Pelgrims's Jasper Staarman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fanis Bakosis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Tiburones Rojos's goalkeeper Fanis Bakosis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jasper Staarman. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Tiburones Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Egoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tonnie Ter came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the De Pelgrims fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tonnie Ter couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Venceslao in the 36th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Laurens Oosterman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurens Oosterman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Lorien in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruben Lorien to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jasper Staarman in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fanis Bakosis saved Tiburones Rojos from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Tiburones Rojos's Fausto Egoitz got a free kick in the 56th minute. Teofilo Venceslao charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teofilo Venceslao the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Herman Craandijk hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. De Pelgrims had won after a very even match.
