Spectators: 7598 (Terracing: 5700, Seating: 1747, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Conrado Faron took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Eusébio Paraíba notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Caaguazu's Olo Uriarte. Olo Uriarte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 9th minute, Nando Cando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caaguazu's Olo Uriarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Matos in the 20th minute of play. Giovanni Nóbrega didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Conrado Faron went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 29th minute, Zeca Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Caaguazu's Giovanni Nóbrega threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Conrado Faron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 31 minutes Edson Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kismi Sierralta who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Caaguazu's Baldomero Vellon to fire away a dangerous shot which Giovanni Nóbrega despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Paraíba in the 37th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Olo Uriarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kismi Sierralta hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mauro Bocaran kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Caaguazu's zone, Ramiro Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olo Uriarte came out of the goal and Ramiro Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Saraiva to make the kick off. A collision led to Caaguazu getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Nando Cando hit a great ball. In the 53rd match minute, Edson Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Terra to maneuver through the defense. Olo Uriarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Matos in the 57th minute of play. If Conrado Faron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olo Uriarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Paraíba's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Olo Uriarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Hernani Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olo Uriarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Faron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Nóbrega having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Caaguazu's goalkeeper Olo Uriarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Saraiva. Olo Uriarte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Paraíba in the 89th minute. After 90 minutes of play, Caaguazu's Conrado Faron made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni Nóbrega was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hernani Matos charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani Matos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Edson Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Hernani Matos hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Caaguazu had won after a very even match.
