Club Atlético de Newell's Matthew Edwards played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Garcia in the 36th minute of play. Nilmar de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobby Bear, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olly Nethercot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristram Ellerton in the 51st minute of play forced Shark FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Nilmar de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
