But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Igon couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Igon in the 13th minute of play forced Família Ressaca MZ's goalkeeper Romeu Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Jeronimo Herauso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Augusto Trancoso struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Jonas Rozarius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Família Ressaca MZ. The Família Ressaca MZ fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Família Ressaca MZ's Luiz Fábio Lopez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marco Indar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Donato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Família Ressaca MZ's Romeu Donato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Ongile in the 22nd minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Família Ressaca MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Ongile came free, but Romeu Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Aquilino Igon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Donato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Indar's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Luiz Fábio Lopez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonas Rozarius. Luiz Fábio Lopez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Anísio Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Luiz Fábio Lopez took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jonas Rozarius to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Família Ressaca MZ's Durval de Medeiros got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fábio Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Família Ressaca MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Urbano to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Família Ressaca MZ's zone, Ladislao Ongile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Donato came out of the goal and Ladislao Ongile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anísio Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to La Acade getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marco Indar hit a great ball. Anísio Sampaio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonas Rozarius. La Acade's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fábio Lopez in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonas Rozarius saved La Acade from getting behind. In the 71st match minute, La Acade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeronimo Herauso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Ongile got free with Romeu Donato in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernardinho Vieira hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute of the match Octavio Erdiano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeu Donato skillfully saved the ball. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind La Acade's goalkeeper Jonas Rozarius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to La Acade getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Ladislao Ongile hit a great ball.
