After a defensive mix-up in Manchester City's zone, Toomas Lasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jim Sutton came out of the goal and Toomas Lasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toomas Lasso got free with Jim Sutton in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 21 minutes, Rob Robinson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester City and the Vormsi Vald players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rob Robinson hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Toomas Lasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vormsi Vald's supporters rose to their feet, but Toomas Lasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Sutton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clive Hayward to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Toomas Lasso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jim Sutton. That made the score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. In the 28th minute, Rob Robinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With splendid footwork Toomas Lasso arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 30th minute. Toomas Lasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Sutton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Manchester City's Jim Sutton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester City from getting a goal against them. Toomas Lasso scored 3-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jim Sutton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toomas Lasso to strike the kick off in the second half. Vormsi Vald's Reino Annama played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calum Longstaffe in the 53rd minute of play. Toomas Lasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rob Robinson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. Rob Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. The corner was taken by Peedu Kravik in the 65th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Hannes Arumäe heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 67th minute, Antony Kingston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Toomas Lasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Toomas Lasso came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Vormsi Vald fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toomas Lasso couldn't finish the play. Jim Sutton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toomas Lasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Toomas Lasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antony Kingston hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Vormsi Vald's Toomas Lasso got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eddie Doughty charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eddie Doughty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Toomas Lasso struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Jim Sutton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vormsi Vald. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vormsi Vald fans cheered their team off the field, for while Manchester City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
