Manchester City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roch Covington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Anthony Carey in the 10th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Antonio Grossman kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 13 minutes into the match, Jagiellonia Denver's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Carey came free, but Antonio Grossman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Saul Holley got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 15th minute, Anthony Carey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Jagiellonia Denver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Columbus Becker didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Jagiellonia Denver's Antonio Grossman got control of the ball when Anthony Carey tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 17 played minutes Jagiellonia Denver got a freekick which was hit by Kelly Medeiros. After having played for 20 minutes, Roch Covington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jagiellonia Denver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roch Covington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jim Sutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryon Hendrix, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anthony Carey in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Grossman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30thth minute of the game Anthony Carey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jagiellonia Denver's Antonio Grossman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Manchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Trenton Warren came free, but Jim Sutton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Clive Hayward got a free kick in the 40th minute. Antonio Grossman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Carey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Trenton Warren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jim Sutton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.

Antonio Grossman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Carey in the 66th minute of the match. Roch Covington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Sutton having to interfere. A collision led to Jagiellonia Denver getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Bryon Hendrix hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Anthony Carey put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Antonio Grossman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryon Hendrix in the 78th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Jim Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute of the match, Kelly Medeiros tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jim Sutton saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 83rd minute Trenton Warren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Sutton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jagiellonia Denver were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Manchester City's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edison Lam took the corner. The corner ended in Edison Lam almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Manchester City's Jim Sutton did a great save. After 89 minutes, Ronnie Prince mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester City and the Jagiellonia Denver players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Manchester City's Ronnie Prince got a free kick in the 89th minute. Manchester City's Jim Sutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trenton Warren in the 90th minute of play. Jim Sutton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bryon Hendrix's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Clive Hayward hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Jagiellonia Denver's Roch Covington got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
