Spectators: 7464 (Terracing: 5599, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) Washington Berger started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Washington Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Percy Reis made a huge save. In the 6th minute Mala FC were awarded a corner. Maurinho Jacinto went to the cornerflag to take it. When André Luís Trigo came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Botafogo AP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Trigo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 11 minutes, Clemente Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Botafogo AP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo AP's goalkeeper Percy Reis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 0-1 became the score in the 28th minute when André Luís Trigo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some careless play in the Mala FC defense, André Luís Trigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimir Neves. The Mala FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimir Neves should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo AP's zone, Washington Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Reis came out of the goal and Washington Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Washington Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Washington Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. Percy Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Berger in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Botafogo AP's Clemente Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vladimir Neves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. A collision led to Mala FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Wilson Tavares hit a great ball. After the first half Botafogo AP were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luís Trigo made a kick off. Vladimir Neves acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 57th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Clóvis das Neves. 60 minutes into the match, Clemente Lopes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimir Neves. Mala FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clemente Lopes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Mala FC's Samuel Dante got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute, Samuel Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Washington Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Washington Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Berger in the 69th minute of play forced Botafogo AP's goalkeeper Percy Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Mala FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Dida Falcão hit a great ball. Dida Falcão's late challenge caught a Botafogo AP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida Falcão helped the player get up and apologised. Dida Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Vladimir Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Washington Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Clemente Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo AP's supporters rose to their feet, but Clemente Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Luís Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Botafogo AP's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
