Mala FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick. Maurinho Jacinto hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Mala FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Carey came free, but Vladimir Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes, Stevie Colman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester City and the Mala FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Manchester City got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Colman. Jim Sutton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Washington Berger went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Anthony Carey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimir Neves having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Anthony Carey took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Vladimir Neves to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Washington Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mala FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Washington Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jim Sutton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Mala FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Dante didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Wilson Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mala FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester City the free kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
