In the 37th match minute, Pegaso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Arnas to maneuver through the defense. Urbano Curcio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Ghionescu having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Pegaso's Robert Christoffersson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
