The wind increased when Jim Frisck made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mirsaad Denisov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Lundgren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The corner led Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Kristoffer Kämpe to fire away a dangerous shot which Péter Čech despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's zone, Älibala Abayev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Lundgren came out of the goal and Älibala Abayev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's William Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loğman Hacibabayev in the 66th minute of play. If Muğan Färzäliyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Çärkäz Dünyamaliyev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristoffer Kämpe to maneuver through the defense. William Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muğan Färzäliyev in the 78th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, one of Şamaxı Bankirlər:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Şamaxı Bankirlər. In the 86th minute Kristoffer Kämpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Frisck in the 87th minute of play forced Şamaxı Bankirlər's goalkeeper Péter Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mirsaad Denisov got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Bocklund in the 91st minute of play. Péter Čech stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hans Bocklund's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Loğman Hacibabayev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that William Lundgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 97 minutes into the game, Loğman Hacibabayev cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. William Lundgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
