In the 20th minute Ronaldo Nazário De Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caco Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes, Zé Lendaa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mukifus FSCMZ and the Real Cruzeiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes Mukifus FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Zé Lendaa. With a little luck, Mukifus FSCMZ's Caco Rocha got control of the ball when Laerte dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laerte dos Santos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Caco Rocha firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when Mukifus FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Lendaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Mukifus FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by João Lendaa. In the 36th match minute, Mukifus FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Brasil to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes, Real Cruzeiro FC's Valdir Tepedino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Caco Rocha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Real Cruzeiro FC reached it. Zé Lendaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Frank Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Lendaa in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

63 minutes into the match, Mukifus FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Tepedino came free, but Caco Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caco Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Zé Lendaa got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Cido Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Frank Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cido Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Inácio Mandrak hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte dos Santos in the 85th minute of play forced Mukifus FSCMZ's goalkeeper Caco Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tales Motta kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Although Real Cruzeiro FC had been in control for most of the match, Mukifus FSCMZ still came away with the win.
