In the 27th minute, Spike Wardell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 29 played minutes Ssc Napoli got a freekick which was hit by Austin Walton. Jörgen Bjurström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Zoff having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Harry Wennerquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Alfredo Fetor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ove Hake. That made the score 3-1 in the 42 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
