Luiz Guilherme Paiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Ove Hake when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gino Hoffmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kalle Norström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Afonsinho Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jörgen Bjurström was the one to do the kick off. When Maicon do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Figueira SC FSCMZ's protests and gave Maicon do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Nils Liedholm IF booed when Figueira SC FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Östen Olsson's late challenge caught a Figueira SC FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Meira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute, Evaristo Meira made a precise shot to the right of Ove Hake. Nils Liedholm IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Geovani Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Hake having to interfere. Ove Hake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Afonsinho Donatello struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Ove Hake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Figueira SC FSCMZ. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Borges in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ove Hake saved Nils Liedholm IF from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Figueira SC FSCMZ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
