Carsten Klaasens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celestino Villamañan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The Diablos Rojos fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Diablos Rojos's Bela Partearroyo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Disappointed in the 1-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Aureo Tofiño kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over Diablos Rojos could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Seagulls throughout the match.
