The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jurjen van der Gun made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Valdemar Moreira sent off a good shot on target. In the 9th minute, PLURAL's Valdemar Moreira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jurjen van der Gun. Jurjen van der Gun yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jurjen van der Gun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Moreira in the 12th minute of the match. Ton Stolte might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Caio Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ton Stolte ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Seagulls's Joep Haremeijer got a free kick in the 15th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Paulo Velasques had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jurjen van der Gun. Seagulls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Velasques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Moreira got free with Jurjen van der Gun in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jurjen van der Gun was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gentil Perdigão showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 29 minute of play. A collision led to Seagulls getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Reinhard Kloppenburg hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jurjen van der Gun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdemar Moreira. In the 39th minute Gentil Perdigão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jurjen van der Gun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henny Lyesen during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 played minutes Seagulls got a freekick which was hit by Henny Lyesen. Jurjen van der Gun stood somewhat misplaced when Gentil Perdigão came free in front of goal and shot 5-0 to the left of him in the 47 minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gentil Perdigão made a kick off. Caio Caiado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jurjen van der Gun having to interfere. Jurjen van der Gun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gentil Perdigão, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute PLURAL were awarded a corner. Valdemar Moreira went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led PLURAL's Valdemar Moreira to fire away a dangerous shot which Jurjen van der Gun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jurjen van der Gun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jurjen van der Gun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Moreira in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, PLURAL's Caio Caiado got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute Gentil Perdigão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jurjen van der Gun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gentil Perdigão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jurjen van der Gun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Moreira in the 77th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Moreira came free, but Jurjen van der Gun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ton Stolte got free with Caio Coutinho in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jurjen van der Gun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 96 minutes into the game, when Ercole Villani put in a rough tackle. Caio Coutinho went to the wrong direction when Joep Haremeijer was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal.
