The bullfinches fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nistor Sfetcu should have stopped the shot. When Arturo Montiel came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Club Deportivo Santiago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Montiel couldn't finish the play. After 19 minutes, Petru Văidianu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the bullfinches and the Club Deportivo Santiago players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes bullfinches got a freekick which was hit by Petru Văidianu. After having played for 19 minutes, Sotomayor Mesia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo Santiago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sotomayor Mesia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th match minute, Club Deportivo Santiago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Loarte to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Santiago's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Zubaşcu came free, but Santino Mora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Liviu Zubaşcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Santino Mora was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 36 played minutes Club Deportivo Santiago got a freekick which was hit by Sotomayor Mesia. Liviu Zubaşcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Santino Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evelio Terres hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nistor Sfetcu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Terres in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Evelio Terres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportivo Santiago fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Club Deportivo Santiago's Santino Mora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Santiago from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute Zuberoa Mesia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Sfetcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to bullfinches getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nistor Sfetcu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of bullfinches booed when Club Deportivo Santiago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Meca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evelio Terres took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nistor Sfetcu. Nistor Sfetcu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costică Glăvan got free with Santino Mora in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, Pedro Loarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Zeru Mendana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Club Deportivo Santiago were the better team. Club Deportivo Santiago's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
